Frequently asked questions
Is the mobile app free with SwiftGuest?
Yes. Every SwiftGuest plan includes the iOS and Android apps at no additional cost. Staff seats on your plan can use the app and the web app interchangeably with the same login.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Core actions — viewing arrivals, updating housekeeping status, checking guests in, and drafting messages — continue to work without connectivity. Updates queue locally and sync the moment the device is back online, with conflict resolution handled server-side.
Which iOS and Android versions are supported?
iOS 15 and newer, and Android 9 (Pie) and newer. We release simultaneous updates every two weeks. The app uses minimal background battery and under 80 MB of storage on a fresh install.
Is biometric login available?
Yes. Face ID and Touch ID on iOS, and fingerprint unlock on Android. Biometric credentials never leave the device — we use the platform keychain and enforce automatic sign-out after a configurable idle timeout.
Can I scan passports with it?
Yes. The camera reads machine-readable zones on passports and ID cards, performs optional face match against the live capture, and fills the guest record automatically. Storage complies with GDPR and your property’s retention rules.
Does it support multi-property staff?
Yes. Staff with access to more than one property see a property switcher at the top of every screen. Permissions, rate visibility, and data scope follow the same rules as the web app.
